    California Online Privacy Protection Act

CalOPPA is the first state law in the nation to require commercial websites and online services to post a privacy policy. We do not specifically market to children under 13.

    Fair Information Practices

The Fair Information Practices Principles form the backbone of privacy law in the United States and the concepts they include have played a significant role in the development of data protection laws around the globe. In order to be in line with Fair Information Practices we will take the following responsive action, should a data breach occur:

This principle requires not only that individuals have enforceable rights against data users, but also that individuals have recourse to courts or a government agency to investigate and/or prosecute non-compliance by data processors.

Youghal Sailing Club is the newest Sailing Club in the country and has been established to encourage sailing, safety on the water and enjoyment of the spectacular coast around Youghal.  Our members include old hands and experts, but they are outnumbered by younger sailors keen to learn, explore, hone their skills and just have fun. Our members are enthusiastic and it is a key factor that we are keen to promote, but always with a eye to training and safety; understanding that the sea can be an exciting place but not a place to take risks. Our club is open to all, and run by the club members for their benefit. Our Meetings are open and even the youngest members are encouraged to pitch in with ideas; like for example what this website looks like ;)

We want to inspire all our members, and we all look to have some great fun. So we are developing a diary of Club Events, days out on the water and social sailing, for this our first season. We're also developing a shore based introduction to the water for new members, some of whom have never been in a sail boat before. We want to make sure that before they are afloat they have a grasp of some of the essential details to make their voyage as enjoyable and possible.

Some of our younger members are keen on racing, and already compete in sailing competitions around the country. Racing is one aspect of sailing that can be physically demanding but also mentally demanding too. Because there is always more to learn about how to set up your boat or handle the course or conditions. This year we are hoping to welcome some other racers from around the country to test themselves here in Youghal, and against our members.

Of course we welcome new members and invite everyone to talk to us about What do you need to be able join?. We cannot have enough members whether you're an experienced sailor or you want to become one join our club. And we call on all sail boat owners and sailors in the region to join us. Whether you plan to sail with us, or not, you will have skills and advice and we'll be happy to accept your help. We all know that the facilities here in Youghal are not yet up to the standards we'd like and we have plans to improve them; but for that we need support and we'll need to raise money.

And we want to create a large sailing community here in Youghal, after all its our heritage, and we believe its our future too.

The Club’s objectives: To promote sailing as a pastime for all members of the community in Youghal and the surrounding regions.

Description To promote sailing as a pastime for all members of the community in Youghal and the surrounding regions. To encourage youth participation in sailing for leisure, fitness and water safety purposes. To develop Youghal as a premier location for recreational and competitive sailing in Ireland.
