Try sailing event at Youghal Sailing Club September 4th at 2pm.
Our 4th Annual Blackwater Cruise is on Sat 6th and Sun 7th August 2016. Cruise in company with sailing boats of all types along the beautiful river Blackwater from Youghal to Villierstown. Camp overnight at the Villerstown Sailing Club grounds and then race (or cruise) back down the following day. There's a fabulous BBQ on the Saturday night and there will be Race Prizes on the Sunday. This is a full two day experience, and great fun. The racing will be intense and challenging, but there will be plenty who just love to cruise along in company.
Entry €10 per boat for YSC members. Entry €20 per boat for non-members

"ISA Board Update The Board met for the 12th and final time this year in Royal Cork Yacht Claub and, amongst many other items on a full agenda, were pleased to approve the application of Youghal Sailing Club to become a Category 1 club. The club’s aims are to promote sailing in the Youghal area and surrounds with a focus on youth participation, and to develop Youghal as a premier location for recreational and competitive sailing in Ireland. The club will initially focus on GP14, Fireball, Laser, Wayfarer and various 20+ foot keelboats. The Club Commodore is Patrick Buttimer. Being safe and confident on the water is a key goal for us all in the Sailing Club. You can't have fun without confidence, and we all care about safety. Confidence and Safety are a result of Training: Training is all important but its not something that the Club can offer at present.
We probably get asked about Summer Camps more than everything else we do, and we'd love to say that we are offering a Summer Camp program ... but we can't. And we are really sorry. We just can't offer Summer Camps, not this summer at least.
We are such a new Club, and we are building from the ground up. We've had great support from the Community of Youghal but the town has no premises or facilities that we can use; so we are having to start from scratch. So for now, the boats we are using are owned by our members, insured by them and stored and moored by them. Without spare boats, somewhere to store them and a base to call our own, we are not (yet) in shape to welcome temporary members or Summer Camps.
We really hope that we can offer a Summer Camp program in the future - maybe even in 2016.
What we can offer is a full membership, an Annual Membership. Most members have their own boats, but not all. Sailing is a life skill, it takes time to become proficient, safe and confident. Annual members buy themselves some extended time to start learning the ropes - and having some fun!
